This year forced our movement inward. With stay-
at-home orders, people created home offices and
space for homeschooling. The dining table became

covered with laptops while everyone Zoomed.
When we realized that this was not going to be just
a short term shift, we looked inward for grounding.

As it becam e clear that this would not be over
quickly, we tried to find new routines. Sometimes
days blended into each other. We found ourselves
befuddled. Experts call this state languishing. The

Fog that surrounded us at the beginning of the
lockdown was unfamiliar.
