EMERGING

 WITH RESILIENCE

Think of learning to do anything—riding a bike, baking, driving
a car, tying a tie, holding a baby. Think about relearning
something—like learning how to date again or returning to

school and mastering online classes. These times will call all
of us to a re-entry—whether it is children returning to college
freeing up space for your new knitting habit, or re-imagining life
events like holidays and celebrations, graduations, weddings—or

simply learning how to stand in line for a coffee again or visiting
your book club live without the Zoom squares.

Will you miss your pets when you return to the office? Will
you look back fondly on wearing your sweatpants? Will you
go back to getting dressed up for the office? Will you still
bake sourdough bread? We’ve experienced a moment in time

globally together. We all bring our individuality to this time,
but we also all relate to the shared anxiety we are all feeling
about coming out of our cocoons. This shared point of view
 strengthens our collective resilience.

Coming out of the pandemic, many things have changed. We
 have changed.

“RESILIENCE DOESN’T MEAN BOUNCING BACK TO

NORMAL. IT MEANS BEING TRANSFORMED TOWARD

 A NEW NORMAL.”

 — ELLEN H. O’DONNELL

Changes have transformed our home lives, our spiritual and

community lives, and our work lives. Focusing on our health
and well-being fortifies us for the new normal. Participation
in our spheres of community, and authentic experiences help
nurture us and strengthen our conviction and resolve. Feeling

revitalized, with our focus clearly aligned on our priorities, we
are clear-headed, grounded, and have space for innovation,
and collaborative thinking that will activate and alight the
changes needed in the post-pandemic landscape. Mindful of

the shifts that have occurred, we emerge with resilience.
